Due to the helpful nature on here ive got a querie..
Ive just brought a chevy astro but its got a problem. When im driving around a right bend and accelerate theres a whirling/metalic noise coming from the curb side wheel. It sounds like the disk is touching the dust guard (same setup as a beetle ie spindle, bearings, hub and disk).Ive re greased the bearings but its still there. Is it likely to be knackered bearings (they didnt seem too bad) or a ball joint?
hi, can you feel any play in the wheel? when jacked up grab top and bottom and try to rock the wheel this should tell you if therfe is play in your wheel bearings. Are they tapered bearings?is there any chance it could be a tyre fouling something?

Cheers, there doesnt seem to be any real play when jacked up, they are tapered bearings . Tightened them up but it still seems to be there. Tyres clear. It is lowered loads with larger wheels and low profile tyres so the bearings do get a beating.
