Removal Steering Wheel

Has anyone fitted a removable steering wheel boss with a standard steering wheel?

Like this:

I was thinking its probably the best security plan.

Does anyone know if it fits?

Thanks in advance

your link doesn't work but i assume you meant this

Snap off Kits - Removable steering Wheel Kit | Bosses/Fitting Kits/Adaptors | Demon Tweeks Motorsport, Motorcycle, Car Modifying, Parts and Accessories,Sparco

This will only work with aftermarket steering wheels, ie mountney, momo etc etc. you cannot make it work for a stock steering wheel.

To be honest, its relatively easy to bypass the problem of no steering wheel so its not the best security measure.

A good immobilisor will stop your car being driven away, very little will stop it being piched by recovery vehicle (often happens with v expensive splits etc).

I've just been looking and there are a few companies that do a nice 17" steering wheel to fit.

Yeah that'll be interesting to know, I thought the boss's have a 'unique' pattern so two are never the same.

exactly why i'm not going into details! Lateral thinking is all thats required! But the bit about them being unique (ish) pattern on the boss between the snap off steering wheels is correct, but it doesn't matter.

However, they are a good detterant but only in the same way that a stoplock is a good detterant. If they seriously want to nick your car they can and will.
