i just thought i would add some picture to show my exsperience. due to lack of funds and space to be able to fully respray my camper ive decided to go for a roller job. im sure some will hate me for doing so. when i started i rearly thught i would have to hide the camper away but the more ive done ive rearly wanted to show it off. im amazed at the finish and thought i would show some pics.
i strated by going down to a paint suplyer in telford and asked for some enamel type paint. after rolling the 4 coats on the door i rearly thought i had made a big mistake. after leaving the paint to harden ive started wet and drying the bubbles, flys and roller lines. im amazed at the finish that im starting to get. here are some pics af a small part of the door that will soon be ready for a mop.
There was a thread about roller painting cars a few years ago on some American website and he got the most amazing finishing just by taking time to flat off between coats.
Dazza off here did his van with that method as well and achieved superb results and I believe Martin T25 has done the same.
You need some patience to do it, but hats off to you as I tried it about 18months ago and couldn't manage one panel!
i did do plenty of reading up on such a task before i started and i have just put plenty of coats on without flating back between coats. and now just flatting back the final coat and seeing great results. if any one is thinking of doing a diy job them self they are more then welcome to come and view my progress to help them make up there minds
Location: Coventry. A nice place to live, but I wouldn't want to visit there!
