2L Turbo Subaru Beetle

Yep, due to a change in circumstances Toby's subaru bug is now up for sale

The bug itself is a 1971 1200 beetle called Geoffrey (he had that geography teacher look about him ), that was restored less than two years ago.

BUG STUFF
It had complete floorpan halves, heater channels, rear quarters, door post repairs, inner wings etc.
Also fitted at the same time - long bonnet, front apron, sloping wings and a semi w decklid to change the look to a pre 67 bug
It is rolling on Empi 8 spoke wheels fitted with 185/55/15's on the front and 205/65/15's on the rear (all tyres have good tread)
The back has been IRS'd.
Front disc brakes and Type 3 rear drum brakes.
Adjustable lowered front beam.

SUBARU STUFF
The engine is a 2 litre Turbo, with WRX heads and inlet manifold
The adaptor plate is from TSR Drag Racing

What else can i say about it other than it goes like shit off a shovel and makes you swear louder and faster than you ever thought possible

EXTRA GOODIES
Fitted with a Scat shifter (no pun intended)
4 in 1 tacho - rev counter, water temp, oil pressure and oil temp (and pretty lights)
MOROSO electronic line lock (ooooh yeah)
Basic alarm is fitted

Geoffrey is painted in 2 pack primer at the mo, and has the vt logo sprayed on the doors and on the back (this was rattle canned on and will wipe of with thinners) So all he will need is a bit of a rub down and he is ready to paint in the colour of your choice

And of course, it currently has 11 months tax and mot

Asking price is £3,500

Call me if you want to come and have a look at him (cos he is parked at my house) on 07833330914. Or call Toby on 07944057925 if you want to talk technical stuff

Some pics of the resto

as mentioned to Toby, would be interested in the scooby stuff if the car gets split, but that would be a shame

I don't think he wants to split because the car was rebuilt with a subaru conversion in mind. He wouldn't be able to sell the bug without the engine as you couldn't just fit an aircooled lump straight back in due to the cutouts for the subaru stuff.

Will double check with hiim tho and let you know tho
