It’s with great regret I’m going to have to sell my bug. I only got it a few weeks ago off Volkszone and it’s been superb great fun to drive and a real head turner. The reason for the sale is I brought it to tow my teardrop trailer to shows but I can’t get a tow bar to go on it and I think i'm to old for a lowered bug. Here is a honest description of the bug.
THE GOOD
1968 so Tax exempt
Loads of new panels when it was restored i.e. wings, door, front ¼, rear valance etc.
1776cc engine (cost £2000 I have the receipt)
Twin Webbers
120 Engle cam
Balanced crank
Electric fuel pump
Disc brakes on front
Metal sliding sunroof
Rage colour change paint (not a show winning paint job but superb at away 10 feet)
Rare as hen’s teeth 2 litre 914 Porsche wheels (including the spare)
Yellow tinted glass
Moulded rear lights
Deep sounding exhaust
Wooded steering wheel
EMPI shifter
Ford front seats
Cool fur door cards
Custom runner boards
Rev counter (Brand new)
Adjustable front beam
NOT SO GOOD
Rust worm has attacked the sunroof (see pics)
The backrest of the rear seat is torn
Engine could do with a rolling road tune to get the best out of it
Drivers door needs adjusting up
MOT runs out Nov 5th but I can put a full 12 months on if the price is right
Looking for a Squareback or a Ghia project or cash will do

That’s all I can think of at the moment, I have given an honest description as possible of the car. The car drives very well and the engine pulls through the gears very very well, the last owner (he built it) said he got low 15’s at the pod that’s with out a rolling road tune up.
So if you want to stand out from the crowd and have a bug that goes as good as it looks this is the bug for you.
