Hi Peeps. Thanks for having a look at this thread.
Right, time has come to sell my Gipsy I'm not happy about selling it, but I have no other choice. I moved last year and now the time has come to start work on my house, so the last thing I want to do is wreck the bus by putting rubbish in the back when I go to the tip etc.
Okay, it will come with 12 months M.O.T (at the moment it runs out on the 4th of March 2010)
She is number 111; she's also a semi rare one (so I'm told) as she has an air cooled back and a water-cooled front. I believe they only made a few of these, as they were on the 'switch over'.
Taxed till 28/2/10
I've just had a new rear spring fitted as the old one broke, also a new clutch master cylinder fitted.
About a year ago it had a new starter motor fitted.
I've used my local garage for the servicing and repairs that I have had done, they do me a good deal as they do all our work vans.
I've loads of paper work with the van. I got the van back in march 2007. I'm the first UK registered owner (as of 22/3/2007)
When I bought Anita, I stripped the fresh water system out and replaced it with new water hoses (fresh water and the waste water) At the start of this year I put a new fresh water pump in, as the old one was a bit noisy (it pumps water at 7ltr per min) I also sanded and re-stained (with clear varnish) the wood work on the inside as it was a bit dirty from the previous owner.
I also replaced the foam and the fabric (seats and curtains, see pics below) the top bunk bed cover can be removed and machine washed. I'm a carpet fitter by trade, so I replaced the flooring thought the bus with natural Sisal flooring in the rear and around the seating area in the front. I also fitted new wood effect vinyl flooring to the kitchen/shower room area. When I got the bus, the rear interior light didn't work so I replaced that with a new L.E.D light strip, which works better to be honest.
I also had two new batteries (one for the bus and one for the leisure) fitted.
It has the following,
Gas 10ltr hot water heater (thermo stated to 70 oC)
Gas Hot air central heating (thermo stated to 30 oC)
Running fresh water system (water pumps at 7ltr per min)
Shower unit with water basin and vanity unit
Two double beds (rear rock and roll)
Seating area for 4 adults
Sink
Two ring burner
Fridge (3-way, works on all)
Zip unit (with 240v plug with adaptor)
Wardrobe
Charging system (works off 240v hook-up)
Onboard 60ltr fresh water tank
Onboard waste water tank
Free view TV with DVD player (both with remote's)
1 double socket (in the larder)
1 single socket behind the passengers seat
Loads of storage (head height and under seat)
Two rear seat belts
Swivel chair (passengers)
Sony minidisk player (with remote controller so you can use it when you are in the back)
Front silver screen covers
Front window vents (black)
Leveling chocks
Carbon monoxide monitor
Bike rack for three bikes
Gas bottle
Tow bar
Omnister awning (approx 3.4m)
Step to get inside (brown in colour)
Etc.....
She is LHD and runs on standard wheels and tires (all with very deep tred, see pic)
Here are some out side pics,
You'll notice that the front number plate is missing (it fell off on the motorway when I was on the way back from the Belgian Grand Prix this year. I've got a new pair coming next week (so there will be a spare rear one for a trailer)
I fitted a new lockable fresh water spout,
Pics with the awning out, (god send at the bus stop over a couple of years ago when it rained like mad, 25 of us stood under it and kept dry!)
Some interior pics,
Rear seating/bed area,
Seat belts,
Free view TV,
I fitted it on a moveable stand, so that if you sleep in the bunk, you can still watch TV,
Larder (please note that the wires will be tidied up before she is sold)
Sink. Cooking unit,
Fridge,
Storage with cutlery draw,
More storage,
Kitchen/shower room area flooring,
Shower room,
Wardrobe,
Side door,
Cab area,
Cup holders and speakers,
Bunkbed area,
If you need anymore pics of the interior, please just ask.
There are a couple of issues with the outside of the bus,
Where I used to live, we only had on street parking and some wonderful person thought it would be nice if they ran a key down the near side! They did it to the rear area and the cab door,
Also, the person who owned it before me (in Germany) hit something and damaged the top corner,
And under the front grill (behind the bumper) there is some surface rust, it's just bubbled the paint,
The body work is not the best, but it surely is not the worst.
We have used this van to its full potential, we've been to France once and Belgium twice and she has never missed a beat. We also have been to loads of VW shows and been to the coast all the time.
We will miss the bus, but as I have said, I have no other choice.
All in all this bus is great. You could pick it up and go straight to a campsite and stay for as long as you like.
I'm asking in the region of £5,500.00 for her. Personally I think this is cheap for this type of bus. If you are looking for a 'minter' ask sventhrusta to sell his and you'll pay over 10k for something like that.
The bus is located in Whixall, Shropshire and you are more than welcome to come and view her anytime, just e-mail or call me.
Thanks for taking a look, Dan.
