The Stig has to either be a person with Formula One driving experience or it is not always the same person. Renault would not have let someone who had not driven an F1 car take theirs around the track IMHO.

My bet is that its several people hence why they don't show who it is as it would mean that the car test lap times weren't all on a level playing field.

its probably no one exciting, just a jokey idea dreamt up while they rejuvenated the show a few years back... i dont care i like it. on the subject, anyone see that guy snap the wheel off the reasonbly priced car?! that was class.

On the subject of the Renault F1 car they took round, I'm seem to remember them saying that renault supplied a driver to do it and it wasn't the stig at all. All for insurance reasons obviously.

I seem to remember they did that with something else too but I can't remember what.

You can tell it's not always the same person too, the driving style changes drastically between tests some weeks!
