right been at it again today been a long day only just sat down , i have cut the step out and a fair bit of rotten arch as well

i started off cutting out the passenger side step and found that somehow someone over time had not bothered to cut out a old step but just welded some plate over the rot ,put some silicone in it ended up being a right bitch to get out, but got there in the end and then i had to line up the new inner and outer step. it took me most of the day to try to get the step in the right position were the gap is about the best i can get it . ours is never going to be a show van ,we just want to get the rot cut out of it tidy it up and get a few years more pleasure out of it .
tomorrow if the weather is dry it is on to the drivers side, the arch is solid on this one so i am hoping that i only have to cut out the step and weld in the new one

for my reward i am now going to tuck in to a nice fry-up

snow has stopped play for today was cracking on as well after giving the neighbours a lie in ,i got on with cutting out the drivers side step until i had a little break down when my grinder broke managed to fix it for now
i have got all the step cut out and i was just starting to tack in the new step when the white stuff started coming down and it is freezing out there now as well , have put the door back on and with a little adjustment it fits pretty good
so thats it for today looks like i will have a afternoon of t.v and warmth

I felt sick mate when he trapped his fingers in the van door. All the way home he kept wiggling them and saying, 'Fingers daddy hurt'. He's a tough cookie though for a 2 year old.

been back at it today , gone dark so no piccies i'm afraid . today had ago at the drivers side again and got all the step done just abit of welding to do underneath when i can get the jack under it and get it up in the air. when i have done this the front will be done apart from a skim of filler here and there and ready to sand for paint .
next up is the rear arches and a rear corner as long as nothing else is going to fall apart or filled with sealant .
i can nearly see the light at the end of the tunnel concerning the welding just got to sand and paint it then

had a decent afternoon on the bay today , i have cut out the rear wheel arch and the inner one as well and replaced them with good metal, lots of hard work and a few burns to my arms.
got to cut a plate for the hole where the water heater vent was and then just one more corner to go
