seal for petrol cap?

Hi, think I need a seal for the petrol cap on 1971 bug.
Just wondering if I can take one off another cap if in good condition? Or if can use any other seal of same size? My caps the original and original colour, so am less keen to buy a whole new cap which are now in black.
Thanks,

Re: seal for petrol cap?

Petrol cap? Black?..Mine failed an mot on the cap cost me £12 for a new hella locking cap from GSF but it was silver metalised one. it was for a 72.
You can change the seal but for what a new cap costs its not worth it..is your cap hidden behind the flap? if so the colour is not all that important is it?
