The pending restoration of our '67 Dormobile means that I need to sell our '69 KG
Imported from California in 1992 & underwent full retsoration.
1776 Laurie Pettit Hand-built engine with Twin Weber 36IDA Carbs.
Early 90s work:
Professional beadblasting of body shell, application of stonechip to underside, full interior & exterior respray and oven bake.
Waxoyled throughout
Overhaul of Brakes new flexi hoses, brakepipes, master cylinder seals and rear wheel cylinders.
Suspension lowered 2 all round
Suspension bushes and gear box mounts replaced with Urethane items
New shock absorbers all round
All rubber seals replaced
Recaro front seats fitted and all seats re-trimmed in grey leather.
Interior cards replaced and trimmed in grey leather and green vinyl
New headlining and wool carpets
Installation of radio cassette and 4 way speaker set.
Chrome & Green Alloy wheels fitted
Since the restoration maintenance has included:
Laurie Pettit engine fitted
1776 pistons and barrels, lightened flywheel and crank (8 dowel)
twin weber 36IDA carbs with K&N filters
kennedy clutch, 120 deg road cam, moly push rods, new 044 cylinder heads with stronger valve springs
1.2:1 ratio rockers
full flow oil system with remote filter and cooler, oil temp gauge
Gearbox rebuilt with new bearings and seals 2004
Replaced starter motor 2004
New front brake discs, calipers & pads and New rear brake shoes 2004
All tyres replaced 2005
New quiet pack exhaust built and fitted - 2006
Battery replaced 2007
Nose cone and front bumper re-spray
The bad bits:
Reverse gate in gearbox not working (Dont worry, I did it once and have been VERY careful since then!)
Small scrape (about 15mm) to paint on nearside front wheel arch.
No arial in the stereo so youve got to play tapes, or use an MP3 adapter.
As usual, £1000's spent, but I think £6,500 is a fair price.
