My RHD '67 Panel was hit by a moron in a 4x4 a while ago.
Accessor came & checked it out, declared it 'Total Loss'
They've offered me £2400(two thousand four hundred pounds)
If anyone out there knows of a British RHD Splitty Panel for that kind
of money,i'd like to hear about it! Fuckin jokers.
Insurance company was Footman James/Equity.
Needless to say the offer is being rejected..

Remember to ask them for a price for the salvage rights. I believe it is your right to buy it back from them after the claim has been settled. Gotta be enough left to resto, right? Oh, and remember to check that they don't cancel your policy once payment is made, I know some do. Good luck with fighting it

I can retain the van for £450,they've already deducted that.
Insurance had lapsed while claim was going thru anyway.
Location: Coventry. A nice place to live, but I wouldn't want to visit there!

Ooh BIG MISTAKE!!!! Always go agreed value! I've been with Footman James and had a total loss on a bug a few years ago. They gave me the full value no problem, no arguments at all. But they did say market value on a bug was £350.

Don't accept the offer mate. Get as much evidence together as possible and go back to them with a figure that you believe its worth. They always try it on with the first offer.
I suggest trawling the classifieds and printing out as many adverts of similar vans as possible and sending them to the insurance company with a covering letter.
Are you in the SSVC or something similar. It would be good if you could get a letter from a club secretary or something with a market-related valuation.
