How easy is it to lower a T25?

What's involved?

How much does it cost?

Thanks in advance.

Gavin

hi gavin,
as far as lowering a t25 goes, you can get springs from justkampers, brickwerks (go onto the brickyard site for those or type in brickwerks and go straight to the site that sells them) or charlie at t3 tuning sells them.
if your lowering it 60mm or more i'd advise getting better (shorter) shock absorbers too and you may have to cut the bumpstops down,
all the information you will need is on the brickyard site,
they arent too bad to change, the backs take about 20 mins, but the fronts are a little bit more difficult, again theres a step by step guide in the brickyard somewhere,
ive used both jk's springs and a full avo kit and found they both made the bus nicer to drive than standard springs

I lowered mine myself last year. I'd never done anything like that before, but by following the article on brickwerks (and ringing garrick up when I got stuck ) I managed to do it myself. It makes a huge difference to the handling

The backs are easy - you don't even have to take the wheel off. The only hard thing about the front is getting the springs in/out - it's really tight. I had crappy spring compressors, but I'm sure if you had a good quality pair it would be much easier

You only need to cut the bumpstops down if you're keeping the standard shocks on. The Avo shocks that I got came with replacement polyeurethane thingys, so the standard bumpstops aren't needed at all. You should also get your camber reset after lowering it.....although I haven't yet

Howdy matey! Ol Bluey and Manfred Van Gypsy from up our way have both lowered T25's so they might be worth a word. Some would say my old T25 got lowered every time i got in it but i think that's just hurtful.

for starters it depends on what model it is, if its a westy etc i wouldnt go lower than 40-45mm as you'll get fouling on the arches
mine definately dropped more than 45mm and looks just right now

wobbly is right i did mine last year, although i had the benefit of a set of ramps in college
we also managed to totally fuck up a set of spring compressors doing it as we didnt follow the brickwerks guide

just read the guide and learn where stuff is on the bus and take your time...it suddenly isnt as daunting as you think
