After some soul searching we have decided to sell our beloved VW panel van, Vincent.
We are motorbike people and as a result he doesn't get driven half as much as he deserves.
So rather than have him sitting in our drive we thought we would let someone else have
the pleasure of ownership.
Vincent is a 1974 Italian import panel van, which we understand is quite rare. He is very straight.
We like the 'rat look' and so we have left him exactly as he was when we bought him, which is the original colour. The roof is red oxide in colour, there is a bit of surface rust on the edges of the gutters, but no holes.
He could also be a blank canvas for someone looking for something smarter, perfect for a respray if that's your bag, but it is Uber cool as it is and is admired wherever we go.
Also specific to Italian Volkswagens are the neat side indicators.
There are a couple of really small holes in the sides and on the front which for fun we have covered with bullet hole stickers, which you can see in the photos.
We fitted the two racks and the aluminium sun visor which are included with the sale.
The bumpers are the original metal and it still has the original metal dash.
There is a face-off radio/MP3/CD player included.
Plus Autometer Tacho.
The engine is 1600cc and has not been touched since we have owned it - 2 years - and runs like a dream, we ran it down to South Cornwall and back to the Midlands with no problems.
Wheels - 8 spoke Empis
Professionally Lowered - Folksey adjuster and Toxic shocks, rear is two splines plus Gaz shocks - Smoother Than A Smooth Thing
Track rod arms replaced before last MOT - which runs to April 2010. In fact we thought about selling it then but the MOT guy was so impressed with what a straight van it is and clean underneath that his comments persuaded us to keep it!
New rear slave cylinders and brake shoes replaced this year.
Inside there are Recaro seats in the front and also as you can see from the photos there are Recaro interior seats fitted in the van itself which could be easily removed if you want to have it as a van. The panelling is thin ply covered in grey cord and was done by the previous owners.
Sunflowers, and cuddly toys not included!
I doubt you could find such a straight van anywhere.
This is really hard for us to sell so come and take him off our hands before we change our minds!
Take him now for £6995 ono
(We are restoring a Beetle for our dub fix!)
